God is Able

A Prayer.... O God: Were it not for thy love, life would be barren. Were it not for moments of prayer, we would stumble and not get up. Were it not for thy goodness, our lives would perish. Were it not for thy mercy, our sins would destroy us. Were it not for thy abiding presence, we would grope in the darkness. Were it not for thee, O God, life would be too much for us. But with thee we live our days in confidence and face the unexpected in trust. O God: With thee life's cares cannot stagger us. With thee life's sorrows mellow our spirits and deepen our understanding. With thee life's disappointments become new opportunities. With thee life's dangers are faced with courage. With thee life's mysteries hold no fear. With thee life's days are filled to overflowing with joy. ~Wallace Friday I thought maybe all of you would enjoy this prayer with me today.....

Trip to Maryland and other friends and places

Here's a link to all the pictures of our time away. http://picasaweb.google.com/ymaevangel/MdIndTripJan2010 # We had such a good time away and we all came back pretty healthy. Thanks to all of you for the good times and the good care you all took of us. I should say yet a little about the funeral. I learned that Mom B learned from her Mother! Grandma Zook was an amazing women. She married when she was 30 and took on 9? step children and then had 6 girls in 7 yrs? time and then lost her husband only after 12 years of marriage! Then she continued on w/ life and we don't hear about the times when it seemed impossible. She showed her family how to look for the bright things and to hold on to God. Amazing woman. But I'm watching my Mother in law and I can see a lot of that same spirit in her!

Happy Birthday Dear Keagan

Keagan turned two on December 26 but we decided not to have his party till things got a little slower from Christmas and all the Blizzardy stuff. So on January 3 we had the family over for cake and Icecream. Here in this first picture Matt is being so kind as to help me decorate the cake. I was rather stressing about it because I am not a cake decorator. I was VERY glad for his help. Keagan was helping too....he was watching and saying, "Thoms, Thoms, Thoms" He was pretty excited. And Zerrick was helping...he took this picture! So we finished the decorating of it and then after it was wrapped nicely with saran wrap Keagan just couldn't resist and he did this squish thing up and down it. So much for all that work. The candle thing was pretty amazing to him. He really was in awe of those candles and then later felt rather satisfied with the whole cake thing. Finally after our snack we could open gifts. Keagan was very excited about that. He kept saying, "open geefts...
