Happy New Year and Random Picture Post

My two littles taking a nap together on the couch.  Of course it really didn't work.   We had a couple days of making snow flakes and this one was the prettiest and the most fun of them all.  Wherein Keagan turns eight!   His birthday is on the 26th so he doesn't get celebrated very joyfully because all our joyfully gets used up the day before and we're always so tired.  But he loved this cake with the candles shooting fire out the bottom of the rocket.  And yes in case you can't tell amidst all the goooky frosting it was suppose to be a rocket.  We started out Christmas with taking Mom and Dad Burkey out to eat.  I put a little closet together for a play house corner for Jeanie's girl play.  Our toy boxes and basement are very boy.  She's liking her space.   More snowflake creations.   Keagan got an invention kit for his birthday and I think it was probably the biggest hi...

Thankful

Today was spent enjoying our snow and making Christmas food.  At 6pm I got a call that matt was in the ER with muscle spasms and couldn't get his breathe.  He had injured his back early in the week and was trying to tough it out.  Anyhow, in the end we are all home safely and he's sleeping deeply due to all the muscle relaxant meds.  And my babies are all tucked in.  And my dishes are done and we have a white Christmas. And I am blessed beyond measure.  I just read about a local accident here on our main road that just happened tonight.  It was a fatal accident.  How can I not but be grateful and humbled that we are all home and cozy in our beds with a fire crackling in the fireplace?  Dear God comfort and give strength to all those people  hurting  and suffering this Christmas Eve.   Amen.

Merry white Christmas!

God is giving us a white Christmas after all!    Perfection.

Merry Christmas!

So our Christmas Picture 2015  for your comfort and joy!  Ahem.  I told Matt that next year we WILL take a PLANNED family picture in the SUMMER sometime.  Maybe we will.  We sadly don't do family pictures officially ever.  I think we need to for the sake of training the three gentleman coming up, to learn about smiling charmingly and the like....(look at Zerrick if you're wondering of my meaning.)      But.  On to the Christmas letter!   I actually am going to send real authentic picture and letter out to whoever is on my list,  if I still have your address!  But that isn't happening till  after Christmas. For my records I'm posting it here!       Dear Friends, A Merry Christmas to you all! I think it's been at least two years since I've done this! Our lives have been full and our hearts are full too. God has been so good to us not only in our daily lives but in teaching us lessons along...

A Wet Monday

On Saturday it started raining.  By Sunday night we had lakes of mud outside our porch door.  And this morning our yard is white with snow.  It looks so nice but with all the rain under it, it's already beginning to look like dirty slush.  Sigh.        We've had such a good weekend.  Friday night we went to hear the kids program from our church school.  Saturday we braved the crowds and shopped for Christmas.  After which we were honored to have Mom and Dad B eat out with us at Famous Dave's.  The rest of the evening we packed full with an antique mall, Starbucks, a live nativity, and drove by a Christmas light display.  We're attempting to not panic nor do Christmas frantically.  So far all is well!      My one and only dilemma this Christmas is that I am struggling mightily with that mandatory Christmas picture card.  None of you really care to have one anyh...

Thankful

So many good things in my life.  Thank you God.
