More February

They say opposites attract.....  February is suppose to be a lovey  month.  See we even had all the right elements.  But alas, I still don't like February.  It's cold.  It's brown and ugly out.  Plus there are all the expectations of the love all around.  Needless to say I always wonder why it didn't hit our house.  Even the flowers and Latte's and Chocolates didn't press any of the right buttons.  Obviously I am not a card gift surprise type of person.   But I did find it interesting that when I went back over all my February pictures that I am blessed with lots of gifts every day.....and the most precious ones don't even include chocolates and roses!  Isn't that something.    The Latte though.  That rates up there pretty high!  The Latte signifies good  stuff.  When Matt is having his evening black french pressed coffee I can have my amazing Latte and to top it off I get a little excuse to...

Fun Evening....

This afternoon it snowed for about 2 hours and was just perfect for playing for a little....He's warming up nicely with his hot chocolate and beanbag and fire. These two actually were running out in the snow barefoot for a little while.  They finally found real boots and coats and played out there like sensible people for a little.  They love the hot chocolate warming up part of snow just as well as the snow I think.  Gabe and Jenny are gone overnight and we got to have their two babies for a bit this evening while grandpa's were in Lincoln.  The rest of the pics are to prove how much fun they had..... This was some serious fun....until they realized the batteries were all about dead.   And then they had a lot of fun eating fresh cookies at the  bar table..... Mathias was in his element....someone to play with!!!  Goofs. So good....and pleased as could be with his audience..... And then we put floor puz...

Better Living Room Pics

From the dining room entry looking toward what will be the office/ playroom part of the living room  Matt's going to be building a little wall around the chimney some day soon.  And I will get the closet doors painted and some pics on the walls... I was standing in the hall way to take this pic. And I was standing in that closet to take this pic.  Linen closet needs a door .....

Our Winter Days

Our winter days are filled every day with all kinds of  exciting things.  Like bugs for the bug man from the wood pile Another exciting thing that didn't last more than but 10 minutes was face painting.   .    On days when small one is sick he looks longingly out the window at his big brothers playing football.. But sometimes the big brothers are .sick too and mom just makes them go out anyhow.  And they sit on the stoop and consider if they have enough energy to run and play.   And when I MADE him go out he actually had a lot of fun splashing in as deep as his boots would let him.   My winter day yesterday was the most resfreshing day in a long long time! I actually put pictures from Christmas mail somewhere where we could see them for a while.  It's nice to walk into the dining and see friendly faces.....  Much to his dislike he is bannished to his basement cell to do school work.  T...

Summer Past.....

Remember Campfires?    And Sand and Water?   This is just the way one should look at life. Dontcha think?  Late summer weeds..... Friends and sisters whom I never see but they are faithful friends no matter what. Summertime......Flowers!  Looking back at pictures is always a good way to remember that life keeps rotating and God is still good!

I'm a mom....

It's still winter but spring is coming.  The house is still warmer and more inviting than the brown outdoors.  The mud outside is amazing! (not in a good way)  I have never longed for green grass so much as I am this winter. Our lovely blue house is even looking quite brown.  I have big dreams of planting thick grass all over the place here and walking across weedless pokiless ground all next summer with my bare feet.  We're going to have tall big flowers blooming all along the house and the new trees will be planted and being nurtured.    In the house I will have organized the basement to be a cool happy retreat place.  The big deep window wells will hold big pots of greenery of some sort.  I have some papaya seeds drying that I'm hoping to grow.  It should be pretty tropical in the window wells with window covers on them.    Upstairs in the house we will have the living room unpacked and I  will close my eyes...
