Long Pine Trip

We had such an wonderful little time up there.  ~The spring fed stream had trout in that the boys actually caught.  The stream was an orangey color from all the rain, ~We found a very nice hiking trail.  We saw a white tail doe at the top of the hike.  ~We got rained on every night and our huge 3 room tent kept us perfectly dry.  ~We got to play in the COLD water. Refreshing water.  Cold.... ~We visited a little United Methodist Church on Sunday....a little old building with a handful of white haired ladies and a few other folks.  ~Our Mathias truly loved the outdoors and his first camping experience. ~Best of all was the time AWAY relaxing.  And Matt let me sleep a good part of the day away on Saturday....This mommy brained mom needed the sleep.

Happy Birthday

To Zerrick! He's 8 today. And we love him like crazy. He's our full of insistant life boy. He's learning about lots of character development stuff. And he loves to read and learn. And ya that's me with him in the picture....sporting my new 35 year old look. I didn't know I wasn't seeing so many things! Maybe now I can attack the dirt in this house? :) Hopefully tomorrow I can post some camping pictures and maybe his birthday pictures. But for now, I have lots of cleaning up camping things to do and make that boy his birthday cake.

Sweet Summer

We've been enjoying summer.  Amazing to me how fast it speeds by. This horrible dog will jump all over Zerrick and Keagan but he's all tender to Mathias.   Does anyone from my family recognize this book?  I found this one at Et-Cetra. Learning to walk. 8 months He told me that Daddy made a big big hill in the sand box for them! The mulberries are ripe.  The boys use these to paint themselves for when they're playing Indian. And of course for snacking.  He's standing on some sort of toy thingy and reaching way high for his mulberries. He's very into baseball.  If only we would just play a REAL game with him.  Poor kid.    But he left his glove out in the rain TWICE now....he's feeling rather silly bout that.   But then today he washed two vehicles and burned trash and other various chores...He's growing up!  Nice.

Sunday @ home = relaxing/ rest/ family fun

So today our boys have colds. So Matt and Zerrick went to church in the morning and Zerrick and I went in the evening. What a nice relaxing day we had! Now the boys are all sleeping except for Z.     Here are some pictures of our blue eyed precious.   He is 8 months old and happy most of the time.  He's our little daddies boy.  He notices when people go outside and he stands at the window and watches what goes on out there a lot. Yesterday Matt had him on the mower and he fell asleep for him.  His ears are still dirty from that ride.  This is what was making him laugh so much. They has some sort of joke going.... He loves Matt's droid....especially when it's playing Pandora... I wonder what this thing tastes like.... Keagan spent some time riding this and trying to skate board.  Later on in the day he ended up with a cut toe because he was scootering with out shoes. He has great aspirations...bu...

Picture Post

God gives us rainbows at OUR house when it rains, says Keagan in awe.  It was the first one he ever remembered seeing. This lovely couple came to NE.  We were thrilled to host them for two nights and  a day.  Evelyn and I shopped and cleaned up the front garden.  The guys were doing trailer business.    Late nights up discussing the deep things of life with these people always give us a boost!  The kids had fun doing sparklers one evening.  Zerrick and Miranda are about  the same age and temperament!  They had a lot of fun with her here! My boys are checking out our new mammoth couch.  Our old one was done.  So we picked a man's couch.  I'm having a love/hate relationship with it.  The boys love it though.  Including my man.    Did you notice Mathias' blue eyes?  Just wondered.  Mom B said the other day about how Mathias teethes and such, "He has blue eyes so he wi...

Comments:

Just to let you know I did try to comment on your post...or at least some of the posts.  For some reason I have not been able to comment on people's post.  So , Lisl's picture was hilarious.  Evie's post was sweet and intense and I enjoyed it.  Arla's posts were nice summer thoughts.  Charlottes posts were perfect....I'm going to have to try those muffins on my guests next week.  Dena's post made me tired...how DO you do all those things in a day?!!!  I hope Geneva is having good experiences in LA....I went to the chicago meetings and did some in Baltimore in my days of doing those things.  And I really enjoyed it.  God be close to you.  And I'm sure there are other posts I've read and wanted to comment but now the inspiration has left me.      We just told our first set of guests good-bye and our next set arrives Thursday evening.  And then the next set will arrive on Tues of next week.  And then...
