Picture Post

God gives us rainbows at OUR house when it rains, says Keagan in awe.
It was the first one he ever remembered seeing.

This lovely couple came to NE.  We were thrilled to host them for two nights and  a day.  Evelyn and I shopped and cleaned up the front garden.  The guys were doing trailer business.    Late nights up discussing the deep things of life with these people always give us a boost!

The kids had fun doing sparklers one evening.  Zerrick and Miranda are about  the same age and temperament!  They had a lot of fun with her here!

My boys are checking out our new mammoth couch.  Our old one was done.  So we picked a man's couch.
I'm having a love/hate relationship with it.  The boys love it though.  Including my man.
Did you notice Mathias' blue eyes?  Just wondered.  Mom B said the other day about how Mathias teethes and such, "He has blue eyes so he will teeth different! "  She was joking.  But sometimes it feels like that!  He's a different streak than they are but so much still my boy!  He'll be 8 months old tomorrow.  He plays around the house so independently and happily.  He crawls and pulls himself up along furniture.  He's just pretty typical and we love him.

I didn't get any pictures of when Norvans were here.  I'm hoping Sharon will share some of hers.  The kids played and PLAYED....quite loudly at times. The played water fun and Indians and fished at the pond.  They were too busy playing to eat....they played till my boys were in tears!  It was a wonderful time!  And Sharon helped me bake on Friday and Sam and Kaitlyn took care of my chubbers.  I was amazed at Sharon!  She WORKS and keeps everything going.  I just puddle along.    I'm still going to pay you somehow Sharon.  That was wonderful having all your help and company and good advice and listening ear.  Thank you!

Tomorrow our last set of company will be arriving.  I'm sure it's not the last one for the summer though.  I hope not!  We've been so enjoying them all!

Yesterday was church for us and then waffles and eggs and grilled ham steaks for our Sunday dinner.  We all loved that. The naps and water fun and four wheeler rides were all done by 5pm.  And then Miss Amy crashed.....I stayed home from church and held Mathias and we both slept for two straight hours on that huge couch of ours.   But alas, we had a VERY wakeful night and finally at 6am I got a few hours of shut eye.  So we're still in crash mode today.  Hopefully I can get my feet back under me by tomorrow evening.

So that's all for now.   I've been enjoying all of your blogs ...hopefully I can figure this comment thing out soon.  ~Amy

This one lets me comment, finally. Thanks for the nice update. You're lucky living on the main drag getting all that company, but I wouldn't trade our northwoods for anything.

Would LOVE to see Mathias and Benny together. Not sure it's going to happen anytime soon though. Unless you all come up here....isn't it about time for that? :)

So much fun to read this, Amy. It sounds like you're having a busy and wonderful summer. I laughed about Sharon WORKing and you just puddling along. That would be my sister Twila and me. What's not to love about your new couch? Sweet photo of Kurt and Evelyn. I wish we knew them better.

Happy Birthday Keagan

Keagan turned three while we were in Idaho. So we made a cake and celebrated with the Skrivseth cousins this year. He was enthralled watching me make the cake. Had to have his little hand on that hat! gazing in adoration at it. Just about ready to blow those candles. He kept telling me that we couldn't sing Happy Birthday though. He's easily embarrassed! Silly guy! I rather like my little three year.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness  Forgiveness has bones It has a brain It uses logic  And common sense  Forgiveness goes about Finding a common ground. It shows up in common places. It happens unsuspected. Forgiveness allows one to Name the thing that happened. Forgiveness gives one a way To see it for what it was. Forgiveness provides for the  Empty spaces in conversation  And allows one to listen  And grieve outside of one’s own experience. Forgiveness walks into a situation  And remembers. But walks with peace And knows calmness. Forgiveness has an earpiece  On the heart  And a microphone  At his mouth Saying the words that Forgiveness has given him. Forgiveness doesn’t walk with fear. Forgiveness looks alone. But He’s always always  Hand in hand with gentleness and kindness. Forgiveness can stand alone though. It doesn’t melt away or dissipate  With time. Forgiveness is that little happy wren  On your shoulder  Forgiveness sings...

Let me tell you how God answers prayer

Did I ever write on here that I am teaching school at our little church school?  I absolutely love it and find that it's been a neat way to feel useful and invest in our bubble.  But I am requiring my kids to tell stories and write them and read them.  And right now they are in a four week story writing assignment and I began to wonder what I thought I was doing requiring something of them that I am not really proficient at nor am I very knowledgable about.       So for my story to write  let me tell you a little bit about how God answers prayer.  Sometime I feel like I should write Jeanie's whole story.  But not this time.             Jeanie's been having focal seizures.  We don't know when they started.  All we know is that we were advised to go get her growing pain/ leg cramps looked into and it started the beginning of many tests of which we still aren't done with....
