Pictures I Didn't Take

We had a perfect day yesterday and I have no pictures of it.   It was just a normal day of shopping in Lincoln.  But there are so many moments I wish I could freeze in my time of life with these four kids of mine.       The picture of all three boys sitting across from me in the Culvers booth.  Mathias jabbering. Keagan eating fast after sitting and day dreaming over his Dr. Pepper for too long. Zerrick being the big brother and feeling relieved to be eating again!  Jeanie was bopping all around eating and trying to make a mess with the salt shakers.       Walking to Kohl's from the Honda place, Jeanie puddles along and then looks ahead and sees her brothers sitting in the grass waiting on us to catch up.  So she inspects her spot of grass and backs herself up to it and plops down , sitting there trying to be like them.  And then looks at us all and twitches her foot in satisfaction.  And then ge...

Saturday's Progress

So far today I haven't accomplished a lot.  But what is happening is worth noting!  I cleaned a closet or two.  Matt patched a roof with Zerricks help.  Now he is packing dirt and taking care of the last side of the yard!   Mud will become a distant memory .

Zerrick is 12

My first born turned twelve last month all unnoticed .  We were in Maryland and so the day passed without any splash.  He is turning into a smart young man.  I depend on him so very much.  He watches out for his little brothers and sisters so well and they look up to him.   He had a whole pile of boys over to camp in the back yard last week!  What a night!  But he loved it!    Jeanie's favorite spot ... Right by Zerrick pretending to read with him!

Not What It Is.....

There's a Skrivseth title for you!  Abstract and off the wall as can be.       Did you ever know you were pushing the time limits but chose not to look at the time because if you do you know you're not going to cut the mustard this time so you don't look....and pretend it's not five till....but it still really is five till.....it's a spiral of mine.        I've been stressing a lot lately.  I'm clenching my teeth at night.  I'm having a racing heart beat. I'm not looking to see what it is.  I don't want to know.  Cuz if I really admit what it it is then it makes it a reality and I don't know that I want to embrace this reality.  If it's not allowed to be said out loud than it isn't,  right?       Anyhow, how in the world can a person who is so dedicated to honesty and saying it like it is have a few weeks of not saying it like it is?  Huh?  This makes no sens...

It's a Friday....

I woke up this morning before 7 and thought my day was going to be pretty simple and cut and dried.   And then we started talking about the things that stress marriages.  Like money and budgeting and landscaping and broken fridges and broken dressers.   And so we got up and made coffee and Jeanie Bops woke up and snuggled and smiled for us and enjoyed toast and conversation with us, and  so the day began.   And now the list just got long.   But I found the papers I needed to sign for our next school year!   I was worried about what I did with them.   And it felt like God found them for me.   I had just told Matt 20 min before, " I have to find those papers"  and I came to the desk to get a out a notebook and they were there!  PTL .  One less stress to worry over!  School starts in a little over a month!  This summer is flying by.   We still need to f...
