March

I think I will be glad when March gets marched out.   So much mud.   So much sickness.....including morning sickness.   So much tired.  So much cold.     BUT, my bulbs I put in the ground last fall are coming up...some as tall as 3 inches for sure!     AND the fevers of last week are slowly going away!   AND the boys have a puppy to play with and train again!   AND my sister just sent me four dresses freshly sewn.   AND my Man has provided me with every convenience in the appliance world.   AND he even hung the curtain rods in the living so now we have privacy and we can stop getting cooked when the sun beats in those windows.(although I love that sunshine!)    I have this big desire to bake and create in the kitchen. So the thing I want to try right now is a recipe from Mennonite Girls Can Cook, called Paska Buns.  Keagan really wants something good to eat l...

March 2013

Our lives are always full and busy.  I found these two urchins floating "boats" .  And it was just not good enough to be at the edge of the pond.....hence the bath with clothes on.  I guess that's one way to beat the winter blues in March....  And then there's always other things to discover....I looked out my door and found my boys hanging out the window.  I guess the screen slides right up!  Saturday was a full day of all kinds of projects.  Matt brought home 18 baby chicks.  Ya I let the kids play with the chicks on the kitchen counter.....I cleaned it afterward so all is well....  I made bread and  granola and made a blanket on Saturday.  I was feeling quite virtuous! :)  Settling them in..... All settled in and cozy.  This is suppose to be the week we get spring.  The sun is shining but it is still cold  out there.      Today we take Z to get a mole cut off his back. ...

Our visit to the zoo was a total success.  The animals were much more active and there were not nearly so many people as usual.  This was our first building.  The aquarium .  The penguins were amazing....swimming and jumping. The gorilla complex was a hit....literally.  The one gorilla would come up and smack the window and scare the kids.  These bubbles everywhere were so much fun!  Sweet Livvy.....She was very patient with my terrorizer!  for mom.....this keeps me humble.... In the Jungle.  Was so nice to have them spend two days!  I think we could have a pretty  nice time if the rest of you would brave it some time!  All the kids except Zerrick.  Keagan, Mathias, Myles, Gwen, Olivia, and Mima...... They left this morning at 6.  Last night after we got home from the zoo we had coffee and April packed and we tucked the kids in.  The house is TRASHED and we slept in till ...

A Nebraska Blizzard Sunday

God is giving us one last winter hurrah!  The snow is beautiful. Especially as everything was quite muddy and ugly.  The snow is covering up my little tulip and daffodil plants that were bravely coming through. They will be strong and come through even faster once this snow melts away.     Matt is out and about today clearing church parking lots and such.  Our church was cancelled today because of the snow and wind.  It feels like a normal day here....not a Sunday by any means.  The dishes still needed done and the floors still needed cleaned and the boys still needed naps.  Just another day at our house.  Tonight Matt will go Lincoln to push snow all night.  And we will all sleep in our own cozy beds here at home and keep the fire going.  I think I get the better end of the deal this time!      My mom is on her way home from the hospital today. Now she can settle in at home and ge...
