Ache

My heart literally aches.   For real.   It feels so squeezed. Because of seeing my little girl and my biggest boy play horse rides and trains. Because of hearing the six year old saying something good beyond his years. Because I cleaned and cleaned one area today and lit a candle and if felt so good. Because I watched two good guys reach out to a confused kid for no other reason except the goodness of their hearts.   Because world events make us look heavenward and  remind us that we need to hold tight to the moments we have.  Because they are treasures. Because a friend told me with her eyes that she cared.  And another one texted me her care.  Because four sisters.  They're kind of loud and strong but they never let me curl up and die. "We have this moment to hold in our hands, and to touch as it slips through our fingers like sand. Yesterday's gone and tomorrow may never come.....but we have this moment today. Mundane

I'm thinking the mundane things of life are pretty good after all.  Too much busy and too much drama in the politics and too much judgement and too much weird, makes mundane look just about right.  This morning I woke up and looked out my living room window and now the cornfields that surrounded us are all harvested.  All of them!  It always makes me feel sad and stripped of my boundaries and security.  Now we're right out where our world isn't our bubble.  It wasn't anyhow, but I love the little home spot we create in the summer months.  So now those wonderful moments are past and we're headed into the stark flat prairie winter.    And into the mundane and brown life.  But I think we can make it good.  Mundane is good if you spend it realizing it's probably fleeting and we'll need these moments for storing up for later.  Time to make clean and happy warm spots in the house and get the reading stack out and learn some new craf...

Our homeschool families have been working on collectively collecting a certain amount of good grades.  Striving for exellence is our theme this year in our little class room so this is one of our incentives.  So our first party was Tuesday.  The weather was perfect and the turn out was good!  Altogether I think the day was a smashing success.   Our Schedule included, build your own pizzas, a couple team building games, crafts for the littles, soccer for the bigs, and of course they played and talked and giggled and played all over the whole 7 acres.   This is Gwen's first year with home school group. I think she liked it!  And Lydia is in first grade as well. We had 8 moms altoghether.  and the kids from 0-7 numbered 17! Dani!  She's a sweet little giggle girl.  Helping the kids build those pizzas. And there were 14 kids 8 and above,  We had the littles build their pizza's first and th...
