More Mathias...

I finally put the crib up on the day that Mathias turned one month old. Keagan stood on a step stool and looked at him in his crib. He really liked the crib being up and the baby sleeping so nicely in it. It was big stuff that he couldn't wait to tell "Lerrick" and Daddy about. I really just like this picture of him just soaking in all the good stuff in his little life!
Mathias Jaymes. One month old and sleeping contentedly for the first time in his real crib.
And this picture is kind of sad and sheepish for me. You see, I caved and gave him a bottle this afternoon. He was so contented and full that he is ZONKED. Looks like nursing is on it's way out already. I'm sad. But I feel silly to be sad when he can be this contented if I just give up what everyone tells me about nursing...."mom's milk is best" and all that. Not true for this mommy. So I'd rather see this...I guess.

It's okay about that bottle, Amy. Really! As long as he and you are both happy. Just loved these pics, especially the double chin on the last one... :-)

Hi Amy. Such cute little boys. I just want to echo Sharon. "Its okay about that bottle. As long as he and you are both happy" I had that happen to me too, had to go to my little corner, have my cry, and then enjoy my contented baby.

I wanted to say the same thing, Amy, so I'll "second" it. There are plenty of healthy babies out there on the bottle. I did four on the bottle and three breastfed, and nobody would know the difference.

On the bottle... and the comments... :) Nursing doesn't work for me either. With Aubrey I managed to last about 4 1/2 wks until my milk totally dried up. With Kyler I was determined! (After all, if my sisters in law can nurse over a year, I'm obviously not doing something right.) So we tried everything!!We lasted about 6 wks until I gave up. He was a totally different baby after that! I decided that this time I won't fight so hard and have my formula and bottles ready. :) I think a happy, contented baby and Mommy are better for everybody involved! :) And Daddy can do a feeding!! :) How nice is that??!!

It's a good thing you took pictures. He will grow up so fast. Cute and precious! You have a great support team. Go!

Happy Birthday Keagan

Keagan turned three while we were in Idaho. So we made a cake and celebrated with the Skrivseth cousins this year. He was enthralled watching me make the cake. Had to have his little hand on that hat! gazing in adoration at it. Just about ready to blow those candles. He kept telling me that we couldn't sing Happy Birthday though. He's easily embarrassed! Silly guy! I rather like my little three year.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness  Forgiveness has bones It has a brain It uses logic  And common sense  Forgiveness goes about Finding a common ground. It shows up in common places. It happens unsuspected. Forgiveness allows one to Name the thing that happened. Forgiveness gives one a way To see it for what it was. Forgiveness provides for the  Empty spaces in conversation  And allows one to listen  And grieve outside of one’s own experience. Forgiveness walks into a situation  And remembers. But walks with peace And knows calmness. Forgiveness has an earpiece  On the heart  And a microphone  At his mouth Saying the words that Forgiveness has given him. Forgiveness doesn’t walk with fear. Forgiveness looks alone. But He’s always always  Hand in hand with gentleness and kindness. Forgiveness can stand alone though. It doesn’t melt away or dissipate  With time. Forgiveness is that little happy wren  On your shoulder  Forgiveness sings...

Let me tell you how God answers prayer

Did I ever write on here that I am teaching school at our little church school?  I absolutely love it and find that it's been a neat way to feel useful and invest in our bubble.  But I am requiring my kids to tell stories and write them and read them.  And right now they are in a four week story writing assignment and I began to wonder what I thought I was doing requiring something of them that I am not really proficient at nor am I very knowledgable about.       So for my story to write  let me tell you a little bit about how God answers prayer.  Sometime I feel like I should write Jeanie's whole story.  But not this time.             Jeanie's been having focal seizures.  We don't know when they started.  All we know is that we were advised to go get her growing pain/ leg cramps looked into and it started the beginning of many tests of which we still aren't done with....
