Life

Garage Sales are in season now. In case nobody told you yet, I just did!  So tomorrow is the day.  Tomorrow is the annual Garage Sale day for us Burkey ladies.  And to top the day off or start the day...(however you wish to do it)....Starbucks is offering free coffee to whoever brings in their own mug.  To celebrate Earth day.  What a good reason for Garage Sales too I guess...recycling junk.
The last two years on Garage Sale day I was pregnant and drove one of the vehicles.  This year I am not doing either one of those things!  So I'm having high hopes for this day.  I don't need a single thing.  I'm looking forward to lunch out with the girls and good chats and belly hurting laughs.  So I hope they don't all disappoint me.
Just found a new book to read. I read one chapter so far. It's called A Thousand Gifts. It's about living life  fully. About gratitude.  And about pain.  I'm not a poetic person though so it might prove to be a challenge to finish.
Today my Calcium herb stuff came in the mail.  I'm conducting a test to see if my theory is correct.  My Keagan is not a good sleeper. And neither is Mathias.  But so far whenever I've giving this stuff to Keagan before he goes to bed he sleeps all night long.  So I gave some to him before bed.  And Mathias got some too.  Now we shall see....     Now I need something for this twitching eye.  It's been twitching all week....and I haven't even told a lie!  Twitchy eyes are like shifty eyes...dishonest eyes.....but I guess it's not really so because I'm honest but my eye is still twitching.  I must be tired.
The grass is green! Matt mowed once already.  The woods down by the little creek is starting to have that soft mossy look to them.  This is good!
I've been thinking on the thought that I  need to spend more time remembering who I am in Christ.  "Let the redeemed of the Lord say so"!  That's what my mom would say.
Have a wonderful Easter Weekend!      ~Amy

Amy, a twitching eye could mean that you need to have corrective lenses or an update on them. I have done that just when I needed new glasses. Eye strain was the cause for me. Hope this helps.
The garage sale-ing sounds like a lot of fun. I can't wait til they start here.....

Happy Birthday Keagan

Keagan turned three while we were in Idaho. So we made a cake and celebrated with the Skrivseth cousins this year. He was enthralled watching me make the cake. Had to have his little hand on that hat! gazing in adoration at it. Just about ready to blow those candles. He kept telling me that we couldn't sing Happy Birthday though. He's easily embarrassed! Silly guy! I rather like my little three year.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness  Forgiveness has bones It has a brain It uses logic  And common sense  Forgiveness goes about Finding a common ground. It shows up in common places. It happens unsuspected. Forgiveness allows one to Name the thing that happened. Forgiveness gives one a way To see it for what it was. Forgiveness provides for the  Empty spaces in conversation  And allows one to listen  And grieve outside of one’s own experience. Forgiveness walks into a situation  And remembers. But walks with peace And knows calmness. Forgiveness has an earpiece  On the heart  And a microphone  At his mouth Saying the words that Forgiveness has given him. Forgiveness doesn’t walk with fear. Forgiveness looks alone. But He’s always always  Hand in hand with gentleness and kindness. Forgiveness can stand alone though. It doesn’t melt away or dissipate  With time. Forgiveness is that little happy wren  On your shoulder  Forgiveness sings...

Let me tell you how God answers prayer

Did I ever write on here that I am teaching school at our little church school?  I absolutely love it and find that it's been a neat way to feel useful and invest in our bubble.  But I am requiring my kids to tell stories and write them and read them.  And right now they are in a four week story writing assignment and I began to wonder what I thought I was doing requiring something of them that I am not really proficient at nor am I very knowledgable about.       So for my story to write  let me tell you a little bit about how God answers prayer.  Sometime I feel like I should write Jeanie's whole story.  But not this time.             Jeanie's been having focal seizures.  We don't know when they started.  All we know is that we were advised to go get her growing pain/ leg cramps looked into and it started the beginning of many tests of which we still aren't done with....
