It seems there is no way to change the fact that winter is a harsh season. We haven't had hardly any snow and it's not been too bad weather wise. But I still maintain that winter is a harsh season. Some of the things that seem harsh to me are:
~ Being at home doing school everyday.
~Juggling all the time with each child and his needs....colds and flu.
~A husband who is concentrating hard on stretching the dollars till spring comes again.
~The grey sky and brown brown..
~Everything is in a sleep mode.....gardens and greenery and sunshine and relationships and friendships and EVERYTHING!
So with no other way around it how can I go through winter without succombing to the harshness?
~ I've been determined to choose what to think about.
~Choose to be happy.
~Light my candles and enjoy the wood fire place.
~Play music.
~Create clean happy spaces in the house.
~Be patient with the sleep mode......the itching down in my heart is sign that there is still life....it's just in a winter sleep.
~And this is the time for putting down more good steady strength for my relationship with God. It seems like when all other relationships are in dormant mode that relationship with God doesn't have to become dormant too. Even if I am in the winter of things in my soul God still is alive and light and divine. And so this is the season I need for digging deeper into God's Words, and more prayer. And learning to surrender and trust God again. Relearning every winter is good for me. Relearning is harsh but not bad. God is still good. I trust that and stay there.
