My days...

Are always busy.  Today I was telling myself that I'm really doing quite well learning to be flexible.  I can't remember one day lately that has gone as planned.  It's good.  But I could complain about the dirty floors and bathrooms and piles of laundry.  But I won't.  But it's there and it does bother me...But you'll never know.....  Whatever.   A few pictures of our home life.

Hunting from their blind....

Zerrick braiding a four strand flat rope

Keagan braiding a four strand round braid

Gabes had all the kids for an evening while Matt and I went out. Gabe taught them how to do these things.  Keagan has several jump ropes in his plans for Christmas gifts for several girl cousins.  This is a worthy hobby....much better than running the circle like they are doing as we speak!

She's happy to get right in the middle of whatever's happening....

Another school year.  Another day of learning letters. Another day to face paint. :)

Something I found off the swap shop that pleases  me lots!

This made me feel very mixed...she's awfully cute and bad both....

Other things we've been doing.  School.  Trying to learn percentages and such with the 6th grader and trying to make him desire a higher grade average.    My first grader  seems to know things without much effort.  He needs more chores I think!
Babysitting.  We've had almost all of the David A. Burkey grands here in the last month.   Tomorrow I can say it's been ALL of them at one time or another.   Mathias now wonders about every other day if any of his friends are coming.  And one day he was playing whatever it is he plays and I heard him telling someone that he needs his girl friends to come to his house.  I asked who  his girl friends were.  And they are Jolene, Gwen, and Lydia...said with a matter a fact duh mom voice.    So now we know.  But he has lots of friends he says.  He's not sure of their names.

Today I baked cinnamon rolls for a lady in Lincoln and cookies for us.  Jeanie was quite impressed with the cinnamon roll she ate....

I don't know why I think I'm so busy. We stay home a lot.    Baby cakes is belting it out...time to tuck her in.  gnite.

Amy, thank you for the update. I loved it! I laughed my head off at Matthias' girlfriends and other friend he doesn't know their names. You have hilarious, worthwhile kids. Jeanie with the books? That, I could live without. It goes against my everything in its place phobia. I never did get that worked out of me properly. I don't think more kids would have gotten rid of it even. It seems to be a problem I have. Flexible? Hhhmmm.... I'm still learning.

You do good!! :-) Flexible...Ivan has asked me already if I got done today what I had planned...well, I quit planning sometime ago, and just do the next job that is staring the largest in my face, and hopefully at the end of the day I accomplish something besides 'spinning' wheels!! :-) And last Fri before the 'home ec' girls came, I quick got out a few fall decorations...now its time to redo for Christmas!! Hopefully it gets done a few days before Christmas!! And Shilah I understand your things in place phobia, although most times by seeing my house...you wouldn't know!! :-)

Happy Birthday Keagan

Keagan turned three while we were in Idaho. So we made a cake and celebrated with the Skrivseth cousins this year. He was enthralled watching me make the cake. Had to have his little hand on that hat! gazing in adoration at it. Just about ready to blow those candles. He kept telling me that we couldn't sing Happy Birthday though. He's easily embarrassed! Silly guy! I rather like my little three year.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness  Forgiveness has bones It has a brain It uses logic  And common sense  Forgiveness goes about Finding a common ground. It shows up in common places. It happens unsuspected. Forgiveness allows one to Name the thing that happened. Forgiveness gives one a way To see it for what it was. Forgiveness provides for the  Empty spaces in conversation  And allows one to listen  And grieve outside of one’s own experience. Forgiveness walks into a situation  And remembers. But walks with peace And knows calmness. Forgiveness has an earpiece  On the heart  And a microphone  At his mouth Saying the words that Forgiveness has given him. Forgiveness doesn’t walk with fear. Forgiveness looks alone. But He’s always always  Hand in hand with gentleness and kindness. Forgiveness can stand alone though. It doesn’t melt away or dissipate  With time. Forgiveness is that little happy wren  On your shoulder  Forgiveness sings...

Let me tell you how God answers prayer

Did I ever write on here that I am teaching school at our little church school?  I absolutely love it and find that it's been a neat way to feel useful and invest in our bubble.  But I am requiring my kids to tell stories and write them and read them.  And right now they are in a four week story writing assignment and I began to wonder what I thought I was doing requiring something of them that I am not really proficient at nor am I very knowledgable about.       So for my story to write  let me tell you a little bit about how God answers prayer.  Sometime I feel like I should write Jeanie's whole story.  But not this time.             Jeanie's been having focal seizures.  We don't know when they started.  All we know is that we were advised to go get her growing pain/ leg cramps looked into and it started the beginning of many tests of which we still aren't done with....
