A Saghetti Head

It's been a Sunday.  A weird one.  Full of everything not like I planned.  I planned diligently to have a clean house in Saturday night.  Mostly √.  I planned to know exactly where the kids Sunday clothes were and ready to put on.  Mostly √.   I got the meat thawed for the Sunday meal.  I got the potatoes ready. I baked a chocolate cake.   I even made them monkey bread for Sunday morning.   Oh and I studied for my class on Friday. So I was set!
Sunday morning arrived and I had the meat in the oven and we did the normal Sunday things.  Went to church.  There is where things began to spiral.  But I just kind of floated above the drain all day.
The message today was so good.  All about practical living out of the fruits of the spirit.  My toes were stepped on.  My heart was convicted and reassured.  God's still working on me!
Lunch was not cooked when we got home.  Plan b was to grill steak.  Those weren't really classy.  After lunch Matt and I and Jeanie had a nice half hour to drink our coffee and visit. Z had a friend over today so they were outside playing.
From then on its been going down hill.  In preparing for Sunday school ( which was about satisfaction in Christ) I discovered even more that God wants us to get to a spot where we realize that He is everything.  Where He is my source for any eternal thing. Joy. Peace. Love. He wants to be our all in all.  And do you realize how hard that is?  Or how easy I make people be all that to me. It's too complex....or too simple.  Either way, it's where it's at.   How satisfied are you in Christ.  Where do you go to fill your spiritual needs?
And I came home tonight realizing it's not fun to be on my face before God and see my undoneness.  But on the other hand it's where I want to be.  That's the place where peace lives.  And joy.  And contentment.
So after contemplating that and rattling all that to Matt , it was time to get the kiddos to bed.  Jeanie would. Not. Sleep.   Finally she did.  About right when Keagan got sick.  So now it's after midnight.  It looks to be a long night.  I'm praying we all can get this week over fast.  But then.  Didn't I just say this is where I want to be?   Spaghetti Head.
I'm banking on God's strength to get us through the moments.  He knows my real needs better than I do right?

Happy Birthday Keagan

Keagan turned three while we were in Idaho. So we made a cake and celebrated with the Skrivseth cousins this year. He was enthralled watching me make the cake. Had to have his little hand on that hat! gazing in adoration at it. Just about ready to blow those candles. He kept telling me that we couldn't sing Happy Birthday though. He's easily embarrassed! Silly guy! I rather like my little three year.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness  Forgiveness has bones It has a brain It uses logic  And common sense  Forgiveness goes about Finding a common ground. It shows up in common places. It happens unsuspected. Forgiveness allows one to Name the thing that happened. Forgiveness gives one a way To see it for what it was. Forgiveness provides for the  Empty spaces in conversation  And allows one to listen  And grieve outside of one’s own experience. Forgiveness walks into a situation  And remembers. But walks with peace And knows calmness. Forgiveness has an earpiece  On the heart  And a microphone  At his mouth Saying the words that Forgiveness has given him. Forgiveness doesn’t walk with fear. Forgiveness looks alone. But He’s always always  Hand in hand with gentleness and kindness. Forgiveness can stand alone though. It doesn’t melt away or dissipate  With time. Forgiveness is that little happy wren  On your shoulder  Forgiveness sings...

Let me tell you how God answers prayer

Did I ever write on here that I am teaching school at our little church school?  I absolutely love it and find that it's been a neat way to feel useful and invest in our bubble.  But I am requiring my kids to tell stories and write them and read them.  And right now they are in a four week story writing assignment and I began to wonder what I thought I was doing requiring something of them that I am not really proficient at nor am I very knowledgable about.       So for my story to write  let me tell you a little bit about how God answers prayer.  Sometime I feel like I should write Jeanie's whole story.  But not this time.             Jeanie's been having focal seizures.  We don't know when they started.  All we know is that we were advised to go get her growing pain/ leg cramps looked into and it started the beginning of many tests of which we still aren't done with....
