February Life

Most of my blogger friends and family blog about cool ideas or what they're learning or  recipes or life from baby stage view or life from teenager stage view.    Here I am over here just recording my life!  Nothing that interesting or terribly enlightening.   I tried to comment on at least two blogs this week and my comments wouldn't stick.  I decided it's all wind.  No one really needs my comment anyhow .  But they were fun blog posts anyhow.  Two other blog posts by Matt's Aunt Gert were especially fun to read and definitely wanted to comment there and say thanks at least for the cut and dried, detailed, real life ideas. Gert's Post    But about the time I was going to do that a little cold hand jerked my chin around and a little voice insisted I pay attention to her.
And then I read an article that made me all condemned about language development in children.  Supposedly my four year old wouldn't need speech therapy if I spent more time interacting with her.   And evidently I didn't read enough stories to her when she was in the womb and when she was one and two and three.  Sigh.  I actually think there's something to it.  I wonder what I was doing with her though.  She didn't even care about stories until just recently.  I do know that my eldest had some of these same delayed learning such as numbers and is now my geeky kid who can tell me all kinds of interesting things he read.  So there is hope yes?
After we got home from meeting with her speech teacher she had to have her baby Joy talk to Miss Wora too.  Now we get to hear about Miss Wora everyday and she wants to know if it's Monday today?  Monday is our next class.  And it's actually Miss Lora.

Classic school time messing around.  It's just so hard to stick with pencil and paper in February.  I'm actually losing heart right now too.

Ya.  So much for healthy eating.  Carbs and Cheese and processed meats.  And definitely using lots of paper plates here.  My dishwasher is toast.

My Quiet place .  When I'm sitting on my couch I can't see the bookshelf behind it.  So just pretend you can't see it either.  :)

Typical.  Her and Joy have a real relationship.

Crystal car puzzle.  This was so fun for him.  Thrift store junk isn't all junk.

Biggest boy driving off to school by himself.  I love  for him having a school drivers licenses.  I honestly wouldn't have it any other way.  Growing and having teens is good.

Jeanie's babies.  Shes terribly busy these days.  hehe.

Crazy kids playing with ugly glasses....

My Birthday gift to myself.

Tee hee.  Is it coffee that is my most favorite or who?  My most favorite seven year old boy messed up my beautiful chalkboard art attempt in a fit of seven yearishness.  So now it looks all messed up like it usually does.  No sense in having things looking like I have it together for too long I guess.  I've been considering Marriage a good deal.  Not too many bloggers will attempt this subject.  Yes they do.  But it's all in lists of seven things not to do or seven things that will improve your marriage.  But to get right down to the truth?  Nope.  Here's the truth.  Marriage is a God thing and for two people to think that they can marry and mesh together two whole different natures and training and it all being a smooth clear saling has totally somehow skipped humanity and is living divinely.  Because it's a divine thing for Marriage to even work.  Because we're Sooo human.  When I get it right though, I'm going to blog on how it's done!  HAAHAA!  I really believe that Satan wants to destroy marriage and I have prayed protection over our marriage so much in the last years.  Silly things happen or are said and are totally heard wrong.  And feelings get sensitive because we're so busy doing life and those are the times when Satan can get in.  These are things no one wants to admit.  Because we love our marriage partner and we want to always show the best side.  But reality is Valentines and Anniversaries need to be celebrated not because the marriage relationship is the best on the planet but because two people did life together and came through the hard stuff for another year and committed over and over again.  And they didn't give up.  And so That's why we celebrate.

I found this the other day when it felt like too much February going on and I giggled.

And this was on the same day.  She's my happy joke most days.

K'nex are the thing right now.

And puzzles .

New plant leaf unfurling.  It's so pretty and interesting.  Little touches from God.

And a little albino popcorn plant .  K planted a handful of popcorn kernels and wah-la...interesting science beyond seeds sprouting.  I guess I didn't know there was such a thing as albino plants.  Who knew?
And that's all folks!   Carry on.......

Don't worry about Jeanie and her speech. I remember Krysta composing poems. She would say them to me and I wrote them down. In one poem I thought she said War but come to find out she was saying Roar. I love this post with everyday happenings. It made me laugh. It made my day brighter! Thank you.

Happy Birthday Keagan

Keagan turned three while we were in Idaho. So we made a cake and celebrated with the Skrivseth cousins this year. He was enthralled watching me make the cake. Had to have his little hand on that hat! gazing in adoration at it. Just about ready to blow those candles. He kept telling me that we couldn't sing Happy Birthday though. He's easily embarrassed! Silly guy! I rather like my little three year.

Forgiveness

Forgiveness  Forgiveness has bones It has a brain It uses logic  And common sense  Forgiveness goes about Finding a common ground. It shows up in common places. It happens unsuspected. Forgiveness allows one to Name the thing that happened. Forgiveness gives one a way To see it for what it was. Forgiveness provides for the  Empty spaces in conversation  And allows one to listen  And grieve outside of one’s own experience. Forgiveness walks into a situation  And remembers. But walks with peace And knows calmness. Forgiveness has an earpiece  On the heart  And a microphone  At his mouth Saying the words that Forgiveness has given him. Forgiveness doesn’t walk with fear. Forgiveness looks alone. But He’s always always  Hand in hand with gentleness and kindness. Forgiveness can stand alone though. It doesn’t melt away or dissipate  With time. Forgiveness is that little happy wren  On your shoulder  Forgiveness sings...

Let me tell you how God answers prayer

Did I ever write on here that I am teaching school at our little church school?  I absolutely love it and find that it's been a neat way to feel useful and invest in our bubble.  But I am requiring my kids to tell stories and write them and read them.  And right now they are in a four week story writing assignment and I began to wonder what I thought I was doing requiring something of them that I am not really proficient at nor am I very knowledgable about.       So for my story to write  let me tell you a little bit about how God answers prayer.  Sometime I feel like I should write Jeanie's whole story.  But not this time.             Jeanie's been having focal seizures.  We don't know when they started.  All we know is that we were advised to go get her growing pain/ leg cramps looked into and it started the beginning of many tests of which we still aren't done with....
