New Post

It's probably a bad time to write a new post.  I'm not exactly well rested and in charming spirits.  But I've sat down here a number of times to post and have had to give up because life was calling.  Matt has the two big boys with him this morning and Mathias is toddling and destroying happily.  So this is my chance.  I'm going to go sew myself a new dress in a little bit.  But not yet.     Do you love your life?  What a weird question huh?  I'm almost 35.  And I wonder if I love my life.  Kind of like the people who survived the world trade center thing..... a lot of them dropped their big career ambitions and decided to "go for it"....it being the thing they really loved.  Rather than the thing that was getting them up the ladder in their career.  So I've not survived the world trade center but I wonder if I'm doing what I love.  Is 35 old enough for a mid life crisis?  Just wondered...

Projects:

Having lots of fun during Christmas Vacation painting. Keagan loved mixing colors and getting his hands right in it.   One day it was nice and peaceful and quiet in the house.  This was why.   They sat up office in their bedroom....they've been checking emails and filing things and paying bills.  Someday soon they can take over for me! :)  A fort they built last night.  This was Keagan's school project this morning.  I drew and cut out the shapes and we glued some of the pieces together but used the little gold clasp thingys for the ears and legs and tails. So he can wag it's tail or legs or ears.  Keagan says his puppies name is Goaly.  We're pretty thrilled with ourselves for making this thing free handed...just looked at a little pic and made it up from there.  Quite a fun project. And I think it's almost cuter than a real puppy. Nobody gets chewed on or jumped on and we can make it bark...

Hello January 2012!

This is a weird January 1 if I do say so myself!  I was working on a puzzle with the hot sunshine streaming in the open door.  My face still feels hot.  It's windy but not a cold wind.  And it's January!  This is the time for blizzards and snow and deary days.  But alas we have hot sunshine and blue sky!  It makes me happy.  My puzzle was a winter scene from Arla.  Did you ever put it all together Arla?  I think I'm really going to like it....If I can keep Mathias' little paddies out.  Maybe putting together a winter scene will bring winter?    So what are your goals for 2012?  I haven't contemplated mine very much yet.  I do hope to put purpose into it.  My life has been a moment by moment going along.  Which is all I could do for the time I was in.  But I have a something in me to enjoy/live/ do/  life with more joy or purpose than the normal bumble jumble along. I wonder how it will be? ...

Picture post

I found Keagan in the crib playing Angry Birds on the Tablet.  Zerrick crawled in to see what he was playing.  Keagan has found the crib to be the perfect place to have whatever treasure he's enjoying all for himself. My cowboy.   Our Christmas supper here.  Excited and can't wait to eat so we can open gifts.... My three cheesy boys. Us.  In case you didn't know.... The three oldest Burkey Grandgirls.  I think they're turning into beautiful young ladies.... Games on our Christmas Day at the folks. Grandpa and Great Grandpa First this happened.  Look at that determination on Gwen's face!  Uh oh.... She observes and wonders what is Lydia going to do with MY phone now?  Okay. So you're not doing anything new or cool with it...give it back!  Sad.  She just couldn't pull hard enough!   The parent took care of it.  Poor Lydia in the depths of despair. ...

Guess who's four!

My Keagan Michael.  That's who!  Today we're making a farm cake and doing laundry and cleaning the house for his very special birthday guests.  Keagan got to go to work with his dad today.  So it's quiet here.  I better get to work......

Ginger Bread house

April wanted to see pictures of my attempt on a Ginger bread house. So here it is. I'm happy I did it. But it doesn't really look awesome or anything. But we had fun. And that was the whole reason for it anyhow. The Back of it. The Front of it...  my windows ran and look like ghosts.   Just some of our Christmas scenery. Our little idols that we put up every year....my kids love to look at our baby Jesus .  My basket of blessings that come in the mail once a year.

Merry Christmas
