Two Recipes

So here are two very unhealthy delicious recipes that we've been enjoying lately. They are more winter recipes  than summer recipes I suppose but still good.  Also, I bet they could be converted!  To be more healthy I mean!  I should be cool and do pictures and all that but I'm not that cool.  Sausage Penne Pasta Saute Smoked sausage slices in onions and coconut oil. At the very end of the saute add two cloves of fresh garlic.  Add three cups of chicken broth.  Add uncooked penne pasta.  Put a lid on it and simmer for twenty minutes till pasta is soft and liquid is gone.  Add more liquid if you run out before pasta is soft.  Right before serving pour cream over it and stir in.  And then stir in parmesan cheese.       We ate this with garlic toast and romaine lettuce salad.  My pickiest eater had THREE servings till the evening was over.  He wanted some for a bedtime snack.    Now if I co...

Our Saturday

Morning coffee. Keagan has been making all kinds of neat things with kinex.   I made a most delicious pie.  It takes 3 or 4 ingredients and so simple to make.   The beginnings of a wonderful big DEEP sandbox!  She helped by watching from the swing.  These two small ones were off to load the wagon with all their sandbox equipment.... More of her sunshine!  The anticipation was running high!  Completed Project.  Zerrick says that even he might play in the sandbox now and then..... he would rather chase a  foot ball all day.  And then we had pizza on the grill... so good.  I have to treasure this spot in time.....It's flying away so fast!  Big long story about the ground our deck is on....but the end of it is that there is a cistern down there that is making things sink and hopefully we're getting to the bottom of the problem....literally..... Later in...

Tears From Their Eyes

He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it.      How awesome it that?  I've had a cloud over my soul lately.  The tears in my heart are still there.  The problem is still around.  But the Lord God is not hampered by my cloud!  It makes me feel humbled and amazed that God will wipe away tears from off all faces.       I'm a mom and I am constantly wiping tears and giving hugs and making judgement calls and trying to heal my children's wounds.  So my first thought of God wiping away my tears was of love.  I love my children so very much.  And when they're hurt or hurting the first thing I do is pull them to me in a hug and wipe their tears and look into their eyes. That's just my natural inclination because of how I feel and love them SO much...

Life from a Three Year Old Boy's Perspective

We live on a ship  The reason we are on a ship is because of the water all around our house due to the rain.  Our ship has kitchens and breakfasts and bathrooms. All three are important things for him every morning.        We put the Thomas train tracks together.  He had to find "The Fat Controller" to help him in his catastrophes.  His hill broke and "The Fat Controller" had to be called in.  They had some dialogue as to what should happen and then one hand fixed the track while "The Fat Controller" was being controlled by the other hand.....and of course conversation being made up along the way.        We have homemade popsicles in our Ship. While he was slurping on his popsicle  he decided that we were in a Zoo.  So now there is a zoo on this ship.      Melted cheese and chips  look like grabbers or some such thing.       He says mixed nuts are his corn for h...

13 Years....

Happy Anniversary to us last Monday.  We've been married for 13 good years.  I wanted to be able to look back and see us at 13 years of marriage when we get to 25 years.  One of the things I think is so easy to do is to just "get use" to marriage.  And that doesn't sound very nice to me.  But it happens.  So I like to reminisce and go back over all the good things from over the years.  This anniversary seemed especially special to me.  And I've been pondering why and  I don't know why.  Maybe because we've stumbled onto a comfortable spot somehow? Maybe because we've learned to fight better?  Maybe because our kids are getting older and we see ourselves as parents of these other beings that have wills and souls and all the same human qualities we have.  And maybe we've been realizing more and more that we need to be sturdy in knowing who we are in Christ and live in that.   Maybe it's just called growing up?  Maybe i...

Jenn's Visit

We had a day of absolutely shiney weather!  It was warm and bright out there!  Karis baby!  She's so pretty!  Such a good mom!  We so enjoyed having them here with us for a weekend!    Us two with our babies.

March/ Idaho

It looks like I haven't blogged for a month!  It's been nice having a month away from the computer.  I feel reluctant to get back to social media.  In fact I'm not sure I will go back to it ever like before.  There is just way too much social media explosion / stimulation out there.  Being still and picking my Bible or a book for brain feeding feels so much purer and real..  Virtual reality is so very un real.  And as one person says....I don't want to know all that stuff.   I do love my family who is mostly far away and for that reason social media is nice.    So  for the last month we've been busy busy busy.  March is such an important month.  February is Tough....March brings spring time and healing.  We always need March when it finally gets here!     On the first Monday night of the month we packed into our well travelled Odyssey and headed west to surprise my Idaho family.  It worked perfectly! ...
