Last Weeks Crazy

A week ago I spent Saturday down at the little steeple church a mile from here.  Jenny Miller from Colorado shared her story with about 40 women from around here and then also shared a session on joy and what steals joy and what gives joy.  It was totally a gift kind of day.   But by Sunday things had gotten a bit crazy here.  Matt was away most of the day helping his hispanic workers settle in and ect.  So roofing season officially has begun.  The rest of Sunday was just trying to breathe and figure out schedules for the rest of the week.  So Monday we caught up a little around here and shopped and ran errands.  Tuesday we had two sets of company in one evening.  And Wednesday till Saturday monring we had overnight guests.  And by Friday one kid down with fever.  Not bad I say.  Yesterday we relaxed a little and then installed a new washer and did yard work and went to bed with a clean house even.  So anyhow....

Winter and Idaho and Laundry

Winter goes on forever.  Today we're having an April blizzard.  I snickered and snorted at the weather forecasters and even my own weather forecaster husband.  But when the electricity tries to go off and I'm still working on my endless mountain of laundry and it's a non school day and I'm determined that I only have to do regular things and I promise myself I WILL get laundry done....well then the electric MUST not go off.  And I'm not snickering and snorting anymore. I'm holding my tongue just right..... Sometimes you take selfies for the fun of it because it was just a fun little moment in the kitchen.   Especially this weird special moment.... They were being silly obviously. A Day out with just Jeanie and Keagan.   He picked Valentinos and the cookie shop.... She's a gift to me.  As the boys get bigger, I realize I'm the outnumbered one. I'm treasuring her drama and all the girl stuff.  Finally I have ...

What I Deserve

Why are we so hard on ourselves? We are our own best and harshest  judges. We set expectations for ourselves and kick ourselves for not meeting them. But we're  easy on ourselves as well. We shrug and decide there's always another day. But what about when someone else rips us apart? Or tells us we're wrong? Or is just plain cruel? Do we take it?   Do we believe it?  Because we deserve it. Where did this "I deserve this" stuff come from? Really what do we deserve?   Do we deserve to be hurt?  Do we deserve to be loved? Do we deserve to have someone care for us? When someone reaches out and cares do we push them away because we are  wearing this "I don't deserve love" cloak? If we take on life from "what I deserve" point of view are we really believing that we are new creatures in Christ? The other day I watched someone tear into a whole group of people with words.  Some of the group hated i...

February Life

Most of my blogger friends and family blog about cool ideas or what they're learning or  recipes or life from baby stage view or life from teenager stage view.    Here I am over here just recording my life!  Nothing that interesting or terribly enlightening.   I tried to comment on at least two blogs this week and my comments wouldn't stick.  I decided it's all wind.  No one really needs my comment anyhow .  But they were fun blog posts anyhow.  Two other blog posts by Matt's Aunt Gert were especially fun to read and definitely wanted to comment there and say thanks at least for the cut and dried, detailed, real life ideas.  Gert's Post     But about the time I was going to do that a little cold hand jerked my chin around and a little voice insisted I pay attention to her.       And then I read an article that made me all condemned about language development in children.  Supposedly my four year...
