Idaho Christmas

Our trip to Idaho was kind of last minute decision  But we managed to get packed and on the road fevered kids and all, the week before Christmas.  By the time we got to Idaho the fevers were gone.  Our time out there was full and fun again as usual.

We got to have a little Christmas evening with mom and dad.  Jeanie got three little homemade rag dolls made by mom.

Dad and coffee always go together.

While we were there we:
Went to hear the community choir give their Christmas program.  April was in it.
Had a fun shopping spree at Sharon's store.
Were served a very good lunch at the Bread basket with Norvan's serving and visiting with us.
 Shopped downtown Bonners.
Had coffee with April and Shilah at Shilah's house.
Had THREE evenings with mom and dad / supper coffee philosifying.
Went to Norvans for an evening and got to see Alex and Carissa before they left.
Spent Christmas day at Norvan's  house with everyone.
Went to have coffee with Daytons and Hans.
Had Birthday Cake for Keagan at Jays.
Matt took Zerrick and Keagan skiing one afternoon.  Julianna and Kaitlyn went along.

The boys sang some carols and said luke 2 for mom.

The rest of the pictures are from Christmas Day at Norvan's.  Shilah wrote about the nice things about our family and how we celebrated in her post.... here
Playing twister.

Miss Elle

Mima Dear.

Our boys were disappointed with the amount of snow but they DID have fun anyhow.

Favorite play cousins.

Visiting and games

This is the best part of any gathering and I didn't even help.

Tori is the babysitter at family gatherings.

This is his Chess look.  He won the game so it must of worked.....

Norvan the pirate.  He was very kind to let us invade his space even when his eye/ head felt horrible.

Keagan and I braided these jump ropes for the girls and Dad made the handles for them.

She was showing me her scarf that her mom made for her for Christmas and she was so proud of her mom .  She thinks the world revolves around her mom....she was that impressed!   And then she posed for me.

Christian baby being sweet even if he had just been diagnosed with a bronchial infection.

Jeanie with some girl cousins....
And now we're home.  Back to real life.  And my own wood fire and candles and a little snow and our own space.
Yesterday we spent New Years Day with the Burkey's having our Burkey Christmas.  That was such a good day as well!  Jeanie burned her arm on the wood stove and Keagan had a fever and chest congestion but we had a good time anyhow.  Mom Burkey went ALL out on the food.  I could go on about that.....  the french silk pie.  Oh my!   And the grilled shrimp..... And yes.  The food was good.  And the games that were played this year.  The guys played dealers choice and settlers and yelled and made TONS of noise and yelled down to our end about the noise we were making.  I must say here that I am not a good Take One player.  What a loss I suffered.  But somehow I still like that game.  ...I only wish I was smart.
So now we can do 2015.  We're so blessed.    God bless and keep all of you!

In My Worship Place

Last time I posted I mentioned being in a quiet spot.      It's curious to me how one can be in a quiet spot internally but super busy externally and then be in a quiet season externally but Internally be in a season of seeking and crying and lonely.      Zerrick and Susanna's reception in our yard is over and my many siblings showing up for us was a cherry on top.   It felt like a relaxed good reception and I spent most of it watching people and listening in on little groups of chatter.      And then the twelve hours with my siblings on Saturday.  God worked it out so I could have tiny little snitches of chat that I could be assured that I got the most of the gift of them even being here.        We all stood around and prayed and cried and sobbed together for a short time before Bruce's left.  Healing.  I still feel emotional about it.  And now it's qu...

A few things...

Okay, I have a whole pile of pictures I'm going to post one of these days. In the mean time....a few more questions to add to my last post.... 1. What do people mean when they say things like, " He/she spoke peace/ blessing/ love/truth or whatever into my heart? How does one get truth spoke into ones heart by another person? Okay, now I expect to hear someone defend themselves for saying this or else clarify to me why it sounds so off the wall......no reading this w/out some input! 2. What else? I was asking about what does it mean to have deeper relationship w/ God. So everyone said ya that's a good thing to desire. Here's my thought. You either have a relationship w/ God or you don't. So then who decides if it's a deeper relationship than....see how can you know? Can you compare? That won't work because God doesn't work like that....putting us on brackets of who is most spiritual. The only way you can use the term in having a deeper relationship w/ Go...

Happy Birthday Keagan

Keagan turned three while we were in Idaho. So we made a cake and celebrated with the Skrivseth cousins this year. He was enthralled watching me make the cake. Had to have his little hand on that hat! gazing in adoration at it. Just about ready to blow those candles. He kept telling me that we couldn't sing Happy Birthday though. He's easily embarrassed! Silly guy! I rather like my little three year.
