4th July

For the fourth we planned ahead this year and filled our day full of good things.  Time for good coffee in the morning.  Time to take care of the little kid goats that were just birthed on Sat.  (the nanny didn't survive her three big babies' births)   Got to the annual air show in Seward in plenty of time to have fun conversation and laughs  with good people while we waited for it to start.  Then home for naps for the kids and setting up for a cookout.  Our cookout was a success with Misc clans from our church community that we hardly ever get the chance to connect with.  Very relaxing and encouraging.  And then off to watch the fireworks.
A most interesting moment for me today was when they sang our song and stood for our flag at the air show.  Little ole me, a nonresistant Mennonite girl teared up!  I guess I understand even more how blessed we've been especially as I've kept more current in the last few years of the world events.  I'm not panicking but I'm aware.  I'm thankful for God.  My solid Rock.   But I wonder how well we're teaching our kids the history of our good land and if they understand fully how blessed we Americans have been.  And most of all I wonder how well my kids understand how we're pilgrims and strangers here and what we've taught them of what really counts and that in the end no one can take Jesus from their hearts.......And how deep is their understanding of God the Solid Rock?  How deep is mine?

Sweet Pepper poppers our neighbor brought to the cook out.  They were SOOOO good!
A blurry pic at the air show.   What fun conversations went on all around us!
Our Messy big yard full of good people.
So much to learn from each other.
More good food.
This kid is so typically wonderful!
There was some amazing good meat in those things!
Chasing wild kitties.
A big topic of conversation was babies and labor.  Carrie is having twin girls in October and Barb is longing for her baby to be born now!  I love these good ladies.  Francis' interest on her face shows the fun conversation.
Blurry but couldn't leave it out.  Lovely ladies here!
At the air show.  Twice related.
My favorite picture of the night,  Morgan is a good girl.  She knows the value of old books and bare feet and summer evenings.

A small portion of the kids.
My great niece Ann with her grandma.   I love this picture.

And that ends the documenting of another good time in our lives.    Thank you God!

In My Worship Place

Last time I posted I mentioned being in a quiet spot.      It's curious to me how one can be in a quiet spot internally but super busy externally and then be in a quiet season externally but Internally be in a season of seeking and crying and lonely.      Zerrick and Susanna's reception in our yard is over and my many siblings showing up for us was a cherry on top.   It felt like a relaxed good reception and I spent most of it watching people and listening in on little groups of chatter.      And then the twelve hours with my siblings on Saturday.  God worked it out so I could have tiny little snitches of chat that I could be assured that I got the most of the gift of them even being here.        We all stood around and prayed and cried and sobbed together for a short time before Bruce's left.  Healing.  I still feel emotional about it.  And now it's qu...

A few things...

Okay, I have a whole pile of pictures I'm going to post one of these days. In the mean time....a few more questions to add to my last post.... 1. What do people mean when they say things like, " He/she spoke peace/ blessing/ love/truth or whatever into my heart? How does one get truth spoke into ones heart by another person? Okay, now I expect to hear someone defend themselves for saying this or else clarify to me why it sounds so off the wall......no reading this w/out some input! 2. What else? I was asking about what does it mean to have deeper relationship w/ God. So everyone said ya that's a good thing to desire. Here's my thought. You either have a relationship w/ God or you don't. So then who decides if it's a deeper relationship than....see how can you know? Can you compare? That won't work because God doesn't work like that....putting us on brackets of who is most spiritual. The only way you can use the term in having a deeper relationship w/ Go...

Happy Birthday Keagan

Keagan turned three while we were in Idaho. So we made a cake and celebrated with the Skrivseth cousins this year. He was enthralled watching me make the cake. Had to have his little hand on that hat! gazing in adoration at it. Just about ready to blow those candles. He kept telling me that we couldn't sing Happy Birthday though. He's easily embarrassed! Silly guy! I rather like my little three year.
