All we really want is to know that we've been worth something to someone.
That's why when the whole world forsakes us we fall on Jesus and soak in all the verses we can find on His love for us.
When we find ourselves identifying in Christ
and we find our worth in being redeemed through Christ
then all the value we try to create and get through people
isn't as important anymore.
But in the general run of daily life people like to know they have worth with the folks around them.
So, spend some time today listening up and really hear what they're saying.
Watch what interests them.
Make an effort to understand what they're saying and feeling.
If you can, try to learn all the interesting facts about their occupation.
Try to see life from their perspective.
Thank them for the time they've spent with you.
Thank them for what they've shared of their heart with you.
Because after all, they were willing to take part in growing your heart.
I think you'll find that you have broadened your own horizons.
You'll have grown your heart and soul a little larger.
You'll have one more soul to pray over and love.
And whether you know it or not you'll be awfully glad you surrounded yourself with a multitude of good diverse people.
And after it's all said and done, they will know they have worth and value and something to contribute to the human race. And that's really what we all want to know.
