My Life

Good morning!  It's Saturday.  In every way it's Saturday:  The house is upside down and dirty from too much schooling and canning.   The boys are still in bed.  I heard the middle one yelling something up the steps about getting certain things ready for him.  One of those things was hot chocolate.  Well dear child, you won't be getting hot chocolate.  We're nearly out of milk.
And there's another proof it's Saturday.  I need to go grocery shopping.   I had my coffee and bagel out on the back deck this morning.  With the dog and chickens roaming the yard.  The sun was shining and making the wet grass glisten.  Saturdays are for catching up on projects and cleaning and working on being positive.  Its's definitely a day where I tell myself, "just keep swimming, just keep swimming".

We had meetings here this week.  Another reason I'm spinning and behind on things.  So now there's lots to ponder and no ready answers.  I suppose when you don't have to ponder things and don't have to dig for answers then you don't really have any meat for the brain and soul?  So I shall be thankful for the questions.   And a wise friend told me last night to pray.  So digging deeper into God's word and praying are on the agenda too.

The boys started piano lessons last week with Tyler.  I was on the way home from Milford last week and I remembered how our piano tuner suggested we look for someone in our own church community to teach the basics to our kids.  And also to ask the local college if there were any music students who'd like the experience of teaching music to my kids.   And I remember praying about it and wondering what to do.  At the time the option for church people seemed like a no because my kids know them too well.  So somewhere in there I thought of Tyler, and decided to just ask.   He has never taught piano before, but my boys look up to him and he's got great teaching abilities. Plus he's  a music student himself.   So I asked and he had never considered such a thing before but he said he'd do this for the school year for us.  It's an answer to prayer.  It is God's quiet way of leading without pushing.  Small things that make me know He's there working when I'm spinning and bumbling along.

And fall is pretty much here.  Fall goes by so fast.  So being intentional and watching sunsets and getting the last of the beautiful weather and noticing it all as fast and hard as I can.  If I can only enjoy it without feeling the mourning of losing summer already!  But enjoy the miracles of life now guys.  And shove forward bravely.  God's got this and we all know it.  It's hard to remember some days though huh?

In My Worship Place

Last time I posted I mentioned being in a quiet spot.      It's curious to me how one can be in a quiet spot internally but super busy externally and then be in a quiet season externally but Internally be in a season of seeking and crying and lonely.      Zerrick and Susanna's reception in our yard is over and my many siblings showing up for us was a cherry on top.   It felt like a relaxed good reception and I spent most of it watching people and listening in on little groups of chatter.      And then the twelve hours with my siblings on Saturday.  God worked it out so I could have tiny little snitches of chat that I could be assured that I got the most of the gift of them even being here.        We all stood around and prayed and cried and sobbed together for a short time before Bruce's left.  Healing.  I still feel emotional about it.  And now it's qu...

A few things...

Okay, I have a whole pile of pictures I'm going to post one of these days. In the mean time....a few more questions to add to my last post.... 1. What do people mean when they say things like, " He/she spoke peace/ blessing/ love/truth or whatever into my heart? How does one get truth spoke into ones heart by another person? Okay, now I expect to hear someone defend themselves for saying this or else clarify to me why it sounds so off the wall......no reading this w/out some input! 2. What else? I was asking about what does it mean to have deeper relationship w/ God. So everyone said ya that's a good thing to desire. Here's my thought. You either have a relationship w/ God or you don't. So then who decides if it's a deeper relationship than....see how can you know? Can you compare? That won't work because God doesn't work like that....putting us on brackets of who is most spiritual. The only way you can use the term in having a deeper relationship w/ Go...

Happy Birthday Keagan

Keagan turned three while we were in Idaho. So we made a cake and celebrated with the Skrivseth cousins this year. He was enthralled watching me make the cake. Had to have his little hand on that hat! gazing in adoration at it. Just about ready to blow those candles. He kept telling me that we couldn't sing Happy Birthday though. He's easily embarrassed! Silly guy! I rather like my little three year.
