So here's a little of my life since November. We went to Idaho over Christmas and drove home on New Year's. After dropping the eldest off at the airport in Spokane that is. He flew to Pennsylvania and has been at SMBI for ages and ages. We get to see him this weekend! He's going to be in Kansas and we'll see him!
So about turning 46. Matt and I both turned 46 in the last few days. I found this photo of me when we were at Norvans for breakfast. Inside I feel this age here. Outside I don't look that age anymore. I'd like to know what I'd be like if I had that body and my experience of life now. Maybe God keeps me humble with not having wisdom and experience when I would have abused it and maybe I don't get that young body now because I would abuse THAT power! HeHe!
Either way, I am blessed beyond measure. That guy in the red sweatshirt just went through a tonsillectomy recovery. Today marks home free day and he can eat whatever he wants. He's cavernously skinny right now. And Matt just had a tooth pulled and it's causing him grief. Next week he has knee surgery. I really think that the 40s are being rather hard on our physique!
Jeanie and I take our chances and go shopping and on coffee dates as much as possible. She's in a bit of a thing with digestion. I'm researching what she needs to calm down and focus and keep her confidence. Pray for us in this if you think of it. It's been a journey.
I have been pondering: Why do some people live with their cups half empty when I see them half full?
Also, Mr. Randy said from the pulpit on Sunday that when we operate in fear most often chaos ensues.
I don't consider myself to be a fearful person. But he used an illustration about how the Midianites ended up killing each other because they were fighting in fear. So Matt asked me how that applies to my life. Here's how: Life is a battle of sorts. What is my fear in this battle? Or what is my identity or my security? Where is my focus? When I get that centered down correctly, I think the battle goes away and the fear/ battle/ focus comes back into perspective and I'm not slaying everyone in my path. I'm grounded enough to love and have perspective.
So there's my January pondering. Ta Ta.
