Life in Nebraska ....

So this is where we are right now.  Dirty/ Ugly rooms abound.  But it's getting better.  Thursday we do a paint day and we shall see what improvements happen that day.  I'll show you then what progress we made.  Until Then....have a good week.  

      There are a lot of little things being completed now.  Our Fall time is here.      At the house, Matt got the paint picked for the outside of the house.  Looks perfect.  Next summer I'll get the exterior doors painted.  In the end it will be red white and blue! :)  Other things happening at the house:  We have two guys finishing up mudding and sanding and trim work.  So next week I can paint... the rest of the house!  Yes!     Our revivals are done.  We had a great week of revivals.  Very refreshing for Matt and I.      My canning is nearly finished!  I actually got some fabulous tomatoes from those plants I planted two months late!  amazing.       My oven and my washer both died in the last week.  Matt has purchased some VERY nice replacements for me.  There is something nice about having household appliances that work well.  I am s...

    Today I took my Keagan once again to the doc.  She says my boys look like they're suffering allergy issues like all the other people in Nebraska right now.  Dark circles under the eyes and drainage and swollen glands.  She says with the drought dryness  making sick dead grass mold spores float everywhere and the corn dust being kicked up with harvest getting into gear, that most of her cold issue patients are actually allergy issues.  So there you have it...it's all Nebraska's fault that my kids look like I push them to their limits and they don't feel good.  I really do let them sleep now and again and I really do feed them real food too.     Speaking of sleep.  It is 9pm and all the tiggers are tucked in already!  Our schedules have been so rotten lately.  But tonight Matt worked at the house without us and he's just now on the way home.  Keagan fell asleep on the big chair right after supper.  I just chec...

My eldest    We found an ice cream shop.  The boys were especially impressed with the cookie dough ice cream. Chocolate ice cream is good too.... These people came out to camp with us.....It's been fun getting to know them .... their kids and ours have really hit it off.  And these people came out on Sat.  It's been fun getting to know them as well!  Our friends brought some fun things along too....this hammock was a hit!  The two urchins.....they get along well and fight  nicely too!  Morning Coffee and campfire time.... We finally broke away from it all and took a little vacation.  After much changing of the mind we  decided on Lake McConaughy.  It was a lovely choice as all the summer crowd had left and we were left alone on long stretches of beautiful sandy beaches.  Our closest neighbors were the sea gulls.  And they loved to eat our bits and pieces.    We spent two nights on the sand and the last two nights below the dam because of a wind storm.  The coffee, the sand and water and sun, the time to watch my boys play and interact, the times to talk with my man, the campfire food and the time with friends were all a success.  We came home in good health and tired as could be. So I have tons of pictures but not any more time to play and load.  Maybe I can come back tomorrow and show you more when I get done with my applesauce.    Have a good week....

     It's Friday evening and Matt has the two littles and Zerrick and I finished up the basement work and are enjoying the quiet.  I found myself with 2 minutes of no pressure to BE and DO right now.  Feels really nice.          I'm feeling nostalgic. Summer is going away already.  During those hot hot days when we spent all our time cleaning up sand and water and getting wet again to survive I thought they would go on longer....  But now they're gone.  Now we have to have shoes or something on our feet because the grass actually does get cold at night.  And the pricklies are pokie.  It's time for fall applesauce and tomatoes.  Making rolls for market even smells different.  Cinnamon is a fall smell....I can get a little jump/ tickle over the smell of cinnamon in the fall compared to in the Summer.  I bet you do too.     And it's the time of year where we start to think t...

I start my new week on Tuesday I guess.  Yesterday I did dishes twice and pulled everything out of the game closet to pack it for moving and took my boy to the doc and went to Walmart and forgot to pick up his medicine and made fabulous pizza and salad for supper and tucked the tiggers in and went to bed at 11:05 pm.  It felt like a rather unsuccessful day.  But finding out what was wrong with my Keagan is good so I will not complain.  He is now on antibiotics and looks as pale as can be and is coughing.  His throat is white and stinks.  Poor boy.    So now we will start our week today! :)  Today I will finish the game closet/ toys thing.  I'm hoping for a large section of the car to be filled for goodwill when I'm done.  And a nice big load of junk for the dumpster as well.  And just a few boxes for the move.  Idealistic I am.  At 4pm I shall pack up our supper and head to the house for an evening of "working at the...
