Life in Nebraska ....

 Outside I hear my two year old playing in the sandbox and singing Jesus Loves Me very clearly.   The doors are hanging open.  The kitchen windows are open ALL THE WAY.    I have the grill started for steaks.   The boys are playing somewhere outside.   Matt is sleeping like a good mono patient should.   Zerrick has one more test in Language Arts and he will be able to call it good for school for the year.   We heard our little baby's heart beat yesterday.  Only 29 more weeks to go!:)   Matt put a new to me sink in my laundry room last night. I keep going back to look at it.  It was a ten dollar garage sale buy and I'm quite pleased.   I saw that Walmart finally got their trees and shrubs in so I bet the other garden centers have theirs in as well.  What kind of fruit and flowering trees shall we plant?   Our garden we planted is coming up. ...

Last evening we had a lovely visit with Matt's Aunts from Maryland who are here visiting.  We had a group of sixteen here for supper.  I made a little bit of food for them.  Actually it was rather embarrassing!  I didn't make enough food.  But we all had a good time.  Nice memories made.  Keagan got a nice big hug and smooches from Aunt Rhoda.  Zerrick  got to play password with Aunt Rachel helping him out.  And Mathias got to play with "Jacob"....he doesn't really know which boy was Jacob but he liked having Thad's boys here!  It was a good time.   And they are having lots of fun with the big magnifying glasses.  Mathias wanted to know if the "ladies" brought them.:)     One of the Aunts wanted a recipe   So here it is.                                        Caesar Dressin...

As thou knowest not what is the way of the spirit,  nor how the bones do grow in the womb of her  that is with child:  even so thou knowest not  the works of God who maketh all. This verse was on my daily verse page on my phone this week and it's been perspective for me.  God knows me and He knows my family and He knows my needs and He knows my wants.  And He's able to do with it what works for Him the best glory.  I'm gonna just trust in that.  

We had such a truly spring day yesterday!  It was pelting rain part of the time and cold and windy.   Inside we were warm warm.  I was baking bread, and cookies and hot dishes for my freezer.   I felt rather successful at the end of the day.   The Dishes one makes when baking in big batches!   Using  my big mixer makes the work shorter but a lot of food too.  Some of the product of my labors                                                    Matt  was home all day in bed with  mono.   He can't stand this laying around stuff but I'm kind of enjoying it.  I know the bills are stacking up and I know the spring roofing season needs to get done.  But God knows our times right?  He can take this thing and make i...

  Three years ago this August I met a man named Frank. He lived in Montana while his wife resided in Missouri. His main reason for being in Montana was (1) He could make more money(he believed) and (2) the fishing was better. He was officially a storm chaser.      My chance encounter with him happened because I was in the mood to talk to a telemarketer one day. After saying hello and realizing  he was not a telemarketer but a roofer I was intrigued and told him to stop in if he got down our way.       We kept in contact and 5  weeks later he stopped in . After meeting Frank in person I could tell doing business with him would be a stretch. We each governed are lives on different principals.       I was with him that day for 3 hours talking and sifting through his thought patterns . We both agreed to sleep on it and talk in the morning, with a final decision about him helping us with roofing projects. B...

    God answered some prayers in amazing ways.       More things to pray about abound.     True friends are a balm to one's soul.     Happy Healthy boys make life pretty good.     Making donuts is just as greasy as last time....(the boys liked it though...)      Having a working vacuum is rather nice.     Our anniversary is Sunday and the day has been planned out for us for a month already.  (We'll celebrate later I guess).      Friday is our day for planning next years school work already.      Two more weeks and I get to go hear our baby's heart beat for the first time.....(still biting my nails and praying).      Matt found out why he's dragging around lately.  Strep throat should be leaving soon now.       We planted a small portion of our yard into grass.         Mud st...

I think I will be glad when March gets marched out.   So much mud.   So much sickness.....including morning sickness.   So much tired.  So much cold.     BUT, my bulbs I put in the ground last fall are coming up...some as tall as 3 inches for sure!     AND the fevers of last week are slowly going away!   AND the boys have a puppy to play with and train again!   AND my sister just sent me four dresses freshly sewn.   AND my Man has provided me with every convenience in the appliance world.   AND he even hung the curtain rods in the living so now we have privacy and we can stop getting cooked when the sun beats in those windows.(although I love that sunshine!)    I have this big desire to bake and create in the kitchen.
