Busy Weekend

I saw this sign at one of the fun stores Cheri took us too.  It is the words I need right now in my life.  Good reminders and words that bring life.   Here's a quick picture post of the most fun fun weekend I've had in such a very long time!  I know I'm being over dramatic again but oh it was so refreshing!  So a quick run down.  Friday was finishing our week of school, laundry, grocery shopping and baking bread.  I finished up at 10:30 pm.  On Saturday morning Jeanie and I left at 7 am for Kansas to see Cheri at Hesston.  Francis and Anne and Jenny and Gwen went with us.  Sunday was Zerrick's baptism.  And Sunday evening we had a house full of good friends here.  Gene's had gone mushroom picking and brought them over to share the experience with us.  So last night was midnight till everyone left.  Today is slow and running behind.  But we'll recuperate and get this week going sometime today.   Che...

Open Our Eyes

More catch-up

The kids went with me to Crete to clean the house there.  Afterwards we celebrated ( not sure what we were celebrating but....).   My friend Carrie gave this to me for my birthday.  At the time it wasn't blooming but now it is.  She dropped this off at one of my lowest days this winter.  She's been such a positive blessing in my life!  Thank you Carrie!  Sunset on an evening spring walk with my own people I live with.   She was being silly....can you tell? More silly!  This kid eats non stop.  It's like every single decision in life is made from the perspective of if there is food involved or not.  He's extremely tall.  He's only 13.  STOP!!!!!   He talks non stop too.  Yesterday in town he educated me on Tesla and baseball.  When we got home he put a sheet of tin up on an outbuilding and then walked away.  Nothing is worth doing if there is no one to talk to. ...

Catch Up

I've been trying to read this book quickly enough so that I can get it all read but slow enough to actually get all the good from it.  HA!   All in all it's a very good book.  The biggest thing I'm taking away from it is that there needs to be some stops in what or where you'll go for others.  And your first priority ever should always first be God and His plan for your life which is to live in relationship with Him and bring glory to Him.     Sunday was amazing out there.    I'm forcing the tree to bud.  And it's happening and it's good!  In the last two years God has been providing me with so much opportunity to learn forgiveness and trust.  When things come up to knock you down it's always so good to get quiet with God and learn from Him.  I'm so grateful for the ways He's been teaching me again about putting my identity in Christ alone.  It's a great gift.  And I'm realizing it agai...

Me amd Jeanie.

I'm just putting a thankful post here for my own benefit.   I'm so thankful for my little girl with a completely complex personality.  The one person in my life that totally makes sense.  Imagine being three and melting down so openly and being so uninhibited.  She's my girl.  Absolutely.

Male household

Means jobs get done .  But be careful when you open the cupboards after they put the dishes away.       It means that I can plunge on a plugged pot and whine and pray and use a wire hanger to dig for a long time amd then the man puts on his muck boots and leather gloves and steps into the mire and gives it three or four plunges and magic.  I was left standing in awe.       It means the toughest one of the lot coughs till he's crying and then crawls up on my couch with his pillow in my lap and falls to sleep, after I held him and prayed out loud for him.      It means I get to help them practice their magic  card tricks on me. And amazing other tricks. The one trick still has me baffled. Some of them are good but others need more practice.     Male household means my house never ever will look like better homes and gardens. But I asked them and none of the...
