Life Catch Up ~ In Picture Form

1st cousins....5 months apart in age.  Rebecca tells Keagan he needs to obey her because SHE'S older! :)  He reminded me today again that he does not have to obey her!  He likes her anyhow...he begs to stop in at "Reebecca's" house when ever we drive by. Discussing deep things of life like kitties and how they should be treated.... Never mind if you can't see to fix the tire dad.. This is our bug man.  What kind of bug is it?  What did the bug man collect in here?  This!  He came in the house with something pocketed in the bottom of his t-shirt.  He said" Guess what I have this time mom?!"  He was jittery with excitement.  So he put it in here... And it tried to hop out at Mathias....which made him cry.  And then it got taken outside in the sun and we left for town.  When we got home it was scorched.  I'll have to teach the bug man to not torture his catches so badly! :) T...

This and That.....

Life has been going along here.  I've been reading some interesting posts lately.  Lisl's Post   Is one that I would like every older experienced women to read and answer honestly about their short comings and victories and why's and wherefores.  I liked some of the comments on that post also. For myself I think the baby stage of life is a hard stage. And it's a stage where we see how terribly selfish we are.  And it's a time of life where we loose so much sleep so some times things look bigger than they are.  And one person I was talking with said that perhaps we young wives /mothers have an elevated view of ourselves and what we think our husbands expect of us.  When really God has called us in this time to the mundane task of day to day child training and babies and to think of it as THIS is where God wants us.   Also I've been talking with Matt about this too and in his logical way he tells me that working together as a team is importan...

Our School Room

This is probably as good as it gets this year. Zerrick @ work...or frustration. Details, Details, little one! This is the corner I'm most thrilled with. That big ole shelf holds so much stuff...stuff that I need right on hand to keep my other two boys busy and happy. K is working on a puzzle here...And Mathias is trotting around being a pain in general!...a nice pain though. :) This my corner desk area and right next to that is my scrap booking table and project corner. As of yet I haven't been able to actually do any scrapping but one of these fine days I intend to. All in all I feel very rich and pleased. It's a nice bright study area. And away from the rest of the regular house goings on.

My Baking Fridays in Pictures

This is what I do every Friday from the beginning of May till the middle of October.  I bake lots of Cinnamon Rolls in 4 varieties.  Regular with white frosting or caramel frosting, raisin with white frosting and sticky bun pecan.  I bought a lovely 20 quart commercial mixer this spring and now I only have to mix rolls two times and cookies once.  And frosting once.  This a slight idea of what the boys do to stay occupied while I'm baking.  Zerrick is on baby duty a lot and Keagan is the guy who likes to play with the dough.  This Friday he made some tiny little cinnamon rolls himself.  And they were good! Mathias got into the flour barrel and screamed when I got him out of it.  Zerrick snuck off as often as he could get by with, but still managed to label containers and babysit and help pkg.  Click on the collage to see it in larger form.  And now you know what I do and dread every single week! :)  And now I ough...

Conversation this morning

Zerrick:  " Keagan, you don't ever eat people." Keagan: "Why not?" Zerrick: "There's two reasons. One reason is because you can't chew their bones and the other reason is because the Bible says you shouldn't eat people." Keagan: "But my daddy could. He's big enough he could chew them." That was the conversation I heard from my bedroom this morning.  They were up getting dressed and playing with Mathias in his crib.  Mathias is happy today and doesn't have any teeth marks on him that I can see! :)  And Keagan has a huge big elevated view of his daddy.  There is no one bigger and stronger and better than HIS dad!   Other things I'm so very glad about.  I'm DONE canning for the year.  And I'm going to the butcher shop today to pick up some of our beef we just got done.  School is going good.  We're learning book things but we're also learning character things too.  I asked him if he misses going ...

Pizza Hut Pizza Sauce

Here is the recipe you were looking for at my house, Dena. Cook together for 1 hr: 2 1/2 Gallon tomato juice 3-10 onions 4 green peppers 2T. crushed red pepper Strain through Victoria Strainer. Return to kettle and add: 1 Scant pint oil 2 T. basil 1 Cup sugar 1/2 gallon tomato paste 2T. oregano 1T. Italian seasoning 2T. Parsley 1/2 C salt 6 bay leaves 3 T. pizza seasoning Cook together for 1 hr. Thicken to taste. Cold pack for 10 minutes. Makes approx. 12 Quart. So this year I'm going to try a few different ideas with this.  April was telling me how she does her garlic in oil and then adds her diced tomatoes and basil and lets it simmer.  This year I'm going to put in lots of garlic and do it in the oil like that first.  Also I'm going to lessen some of that sugar and salt.  And then simmer things till it's thick....maybe skip the paste?  Also...my peppers are going to be Anaheim and jalapeno.!!!  Won't this be fun!  :) ...
